It sure is refreshing ain't it? I just wish the social side of it was a little more accessible (though I suppose it all works well enough) so that we could all just stop bothering with twitter & stuff. lol

I think the reason Newgrounds is a lot more pleasant is because the art and politics are usually separated. If you visit the forums, you’ll know that we have extremist nutcases, too, but the major difference between here and Twitter is that you have to go to a completely different section for the soul-destroying stuff on Newgrounds. If you want to ignore people’s more bonkers opinions and just look at great art, you can do that here simply by ignoring the forums section.

@jthrash Hear, hear! :D

Honestly, I agree. I actually once came up with a list of observations of Newgrounds literally being built better than most other social media. I think that all of those differences are because NG is run by a guy (Tom Fulp) who's doing this because he loves it, rather than by a huge corporation that does everything it can to try to get people literally addicted to its site so that it can have more revenue at the cost of everyone's mental health and well-being.

Say it louder for the people in back!

Oh, fuck? You're making me tear up, man T.T

Thanks to you for posting your beautiful arts here!

Honestly same, I enjoy what interaction I get here! Twitter is too chaotic and I really miss Tumblr
I just need to get better at using NG :')

Yeah, tumblr wasn't perfect, not by a long shot, but it had a lot of aspects I miss.

With pillowfort going public, I wonder if it'll prove itself a competent art sharing platform? Here's to being hopeful!

I've always felt that Newgrounds legitimately cared about its content creators. Tom actually understands that the site would be nothing without them, so he treats em right. Plus, he's made plenty of stuff of his own, so he understands what it's like to be on the other end.
